James Decker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNutt Funeral Home - Conroe on Oct. 1, 2025.
Husband and Father James Michael Decker of New Britain, Connecticut, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Ella Springs Senior Living Community. He was born on February 28, 1943, to parents George Henry Decker (1911-1975) and Marion Estelle Coffran Decker (1916-1983). He was the only boy and 3rd out of 4 children, Mary Ellen Malco, Ann Sutton, and Jane Boyle, his sisters.
He was born and raised on a dairy farm in Connecticut. Joined the Air Force in 1961. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force in 1964 and the Air Force Reserve in 1967, as an Air Policeman with a specialty in Morse Code. He loved it so much that in his last couple of years, he would tell people he was in the Air Force for 20 years.
He leaves his wife of 14 years, Priscilla C. Decker, sons Eric James Decker and Mark Patrick Decker children. His new children, Misty LeRoy-Staton, her husband, Stanford Timothy Staton, and John Edward LeRoy, his partner, Gina Michaud.
He loved Priscilla, and it showed how he was always smiling and looking at her, how he treated her and listened to her every word, numerous times a day, he told her she was his beautiful wife, and he loved her. She is blessed to have been his wife as short as it was. My husband and I are blessed to have loved him and provided care for him. He grew on you. We loved him very much.
He loved computers, bowling, and dancing. He loved kids and animals. He loved how our family interacted and enjoyed hanging out with people around a dinner table. He loved all sports and would watch whatever game was on, even golf.
