James Dwight DeVall, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 69. A resident of Big Creek, Mississippi, Dwight was known for his heartfelt commitment to his community and his unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Born on January 16, 1956, Dwight was a lifelong member of the Big Creek community. He served as Mayor for many years, steering the town with compassion and integrity. His role extended beyond politics; he was a faithful member of the Big Creek Volunteer Fire Department, where he put service above self, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

Dwight found immense joy in the great outdoors, often seen fishing and hunting in the beautiful landscapes of Mississippi. However, his most cherished moments were those spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him boundless love and happiness. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Karen Russell Devall, son Chris (Stephanie) DeVall of Bruce, MS, daughter Melissa (Keith) Parker of Bruce, MS, and his grandchildren Kennon Parker, Braden DeVall, Eli Ward, and Liam James DeVall. He is also survived by his brother, Ray DeVall of Houston, TX.

Dwight was preceded in death by his father, James DeVall, mother, Mae Beth Smith DeVall, and a son, Casey Allen DeVall.

A Graveside Service will be held on November 23, 2025, at 3:00 PM in Chapel Hill Cemetery with Bro. Earl Flemons officiating. Farmer, Jon Fulgham, Kevin Flemons, and David Poynor will serve a pallbearers.

James Dwight Devall will be remembered not only for his contributions to the town of Big Creek but also for his generous spirit, infectious laughter, and deep love for his family.
