James Dio Obituary

The son of the late Joseph and Helen (Mahoney) Dio, stepson of the late Eleanor Dio, he was raised and educated in Medford and Roxbury.
Jim was a retired computer programmer for M.I.B. having worked for them for 30 plus years. Jim loved cars and was a life long hobby mechanic and enjoyed helping neighbors, friends and family with his knowledge of cars. He also was a tow truck driver for the former Pembroke Towing for many years operating the repair shop and the tow trucks.
Jim served Pembroke Youth Hockey as an assistant coach, coach, equipment manager and board member for many years. One of the things he still enjoyed most was going to his grandsons Hockey games as often as possible. Jim loved the CB and was well known by his handle "River Rat".
He was the Co-Owner of A/D/O Enterprises and after retirement from M.I.B. spent the majority of his time in his pride and joy his, garage working on cars or installing stereo systems. Everyone knew Jim and his black Dodge Ram truck with the sound system that made the younger generations jealous.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary (Kelley) Dio and is survived by his sister, Marie Elena Dio of Wellesley, son James J. Dio, Jr., and his wife Mary of Plymouth, daughters Elena Richards and her husband David of Ponce Inlet, FL, Renee Sanger and her husband Michael of East Bridgewater, step daughter Eleanor Benson and her husband Gerry, stepson James Mullane of TX, daughter Lisa Doyle and her husband Erick of Middleboro, son Joseph Dio and his wife Bridget of Plymouth. Grandchildren Krystal Dio, Kimberly Power, Michael Drolette, Jessica Drolette, Tabbatha Dio, Kenneth Evans, Jacob Dio and Kellen Dio. Great Grandchildren Brayden Dio-Close, Jackson Power, Kylie Power, Abigail Gorman and Benjamin Gorman.
Services will be private.
Flowers may be sent to the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover, by Wednesday, October 1st or in lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory can be made to:
