James "Jim" Docherty

James "Jim" Docherty passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at the age of 68.

Beloved husband of Suzanne for 36 wonderful years. Loving father of David (Meggan) South and cherished grandfather of Alayna and Lillian. Dear brother of Karen (Morrie) Pianello, Lorri (Ray) Coughlin, Marjorie (Mike) Fett, Kelly (Dan) Bartold, Terri (Gerry) Vento, and Scott Docherty. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Joann Docherty.

Born and raised in the Detroit area, Jim lived his life surrounded by family, friends, and the community he loved. It was at the St. Germaine beer tent where he met Suzanne, the love of his life, beginning a beautiful journey together. Jim worked proudly for Coca-Cola for 33 years before retiring in 2019.

An avid sports fan, Jim could always be found watching a game-especially NASCAR or cheering for his Detroit Lions. More than anything, Jim treasured time with his family. His children and grandchildren were his greatest joy. Known for his big heart, quick humor, and generous spirit, Jim touched the lives of all who knew him.

Visitation will take place on Monday, September 8, 2025, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home, 13650 E. Fifteen Mile, Sterling Heights. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Jim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
