James F. Dollahan, 59, of Westfield, IL passed away at 12:00 am on Saturday December 14, 2024, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on December 21, 2024, at the Baptist Church in Westfield: 125 S Fulton St, Westfield, IL, United States, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am with Masonic Rites at 11:00am. Scott Sims will be officiating. The Barkley Funeral Chapel in Greenup is assisting the family.
Jim was born on December 3, 1965, in Lawrenceville, IL to James L. and Helen (Franklin) Dollahan. He married Sandra (Sandy) Pontier on November 2, 2002. They have been together for 29 years and married for 22 years. He leaves behind his adoring wife, Sandy; mother Helen Tucker; children Amanda Jolene (Gerard) Spinney, Rita Elizabeth Dollahan, James Joseph Dollahan and Brianna Morgan (Alex) Dollahan; 12 grandchildren Lillie, Mikaylah, Jr., Alex, Sealeace, Grayson, Zach, Jimmy, Gerard, Kinsley, Brexley, and Heinrich; brothers Jeremy (Missy) Dollahan, Jason (Jamie) Dollahan, and Justin (Connie) Dollahan; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and many-many good friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bob and Iris Dollahan and Lloyd and Hazel Franklin, father James L. Dollahan, several uncles, one aunt, and many close family members.
Jim received his G.E.D from St. Mary's High School in Ft. Carson, CO. He attended Colorado Tech where he earned a bachelor's degree in business and his master's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He served in the United States Army from April 1984 to October 1986. He was in the 1st BN 8th Infantry in Ft. Carson, CO doing motor transportation. He was an expert rifle and grenade. Jim was an over the road truck driver from 1987 – 2010. He had been the manager of many drivers since 2010 where he rebuilt terminals and created jobs. His most recent employer was Evonik Corp, that supported our family well.
Jim was a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge #442 in Casey, Illinois, Illinois ABATE, AMA (motorcycle group), HOG (Harley owners Group), and member of the Clark County Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed motorcycle riding alone or with friends, learning to play guitar, shooting at the gun range, bow shooting with Brianna, forging fire pokers and hooks, building models, and squirrel and coon and deer hunting. He loved watching old westerns and tinkering in the garage.
