James Craig Donoho

James Craig Donoho was born on September 9, 1956, in Milan, MO, to Gerald and Mary (Slayton) Donoho. He lived in Milan until his family moved to Humphreys, MO. He attended Milan, Humphreys, and Galt schools before graduating from Grundy K-5 in 1974. He moved to Tulsa then graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1977. He found work at the Hale-Halsell Company driving a truck. He drove for 35 years and owned his own truck for a large part of that time. He met his wife, Verna, during his early years of trucking. She was the daughter of Vernon and Darla Upchurch. They wed on June 19, 1981, in Clinton, OK. James attended Victory Church NWA for 35 years and was a deacon. He enjoyed driving the church bus, leading people to the Lord, and helping them along. He was preceded in death by both his parents, who passed in Trenton, MO, and both his in-laws, who passed in Weatherford, OK. James is survived by his wife Verna, of the home; his sons, Jacob and Joshua, their wives Nicole and Ashley and four grandchildren-Elijah, Josiah, Solomon, and Eleanor; his brother-in-law, Mike Upchurch of Weatherford, OK; his sister-in-law Robin Snider and her husband Tim of Weatherford, OK; his niece Memory Curry and her husband Ty of MO, and their four children; his nephew Justin Snider, his wife McKenzi of Bartlesville, OK and their three children, and his cousins, Don Scott, and his wife, Brian Fulks and his wife, and Mike Fulks-all of Kansas City, MO. He spent the last 12 years of his life battling cancer, diabetes, and heart issues, knowing he was in a win-win situation because the Lord never allowed him any pain and that he was going to Heaven when he died. My only request is that you seek Jesus with your own heart and follow Him." – James Donoho Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2025, at Victory Church NWA in Tontitown. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville. Arrangements are by Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
