James David "Red" Dunaway, 69, Howe TX

Also lived in Big Spring, Lakehills, San Antonio, Odessa, Midland,

Amarillo, and Portales, NM.

Died Wednesday evening 7/2/25 at Texoma Healthcare Center, Sherman TX,

succumbing to cancer of the prostate which had spread to his bones and

lungs.

Born 11/18/1955 in Clovis NM to James Dunaway and Betty Swafford

Dunaway, along with Older sister Mary Beth Dunaway Lawless and little

brother William Tison "Slim" Dunaway

He had one daughter, Jennifer Dunaway Gonce, of Bandera TX and stepson,

Christopher Pitts, of Reno NV, and stepdaughter, Lean Pitts Sumner, of

McKinney Tx.

He was married to Rhonda Booth, in Odessa Tx, on 4/5/1991, and passed

away in Big Spring on 2/13/17. Rhonda was the love of his life; they

were a rare couple. He looked forward to the day they would be see each

other again in Heaven.

He is survived by his kids, Jennifer Gonce and husband, Kevin, and

Christopher Pitts and wife, Nicki; Lean Pitts Sumner and husband, Josh,

of McKinney Tx, and his 8 grandkids - Brandon, Susan, Becca, Justin,

Jeremy, Samuel, McKenzie, and Zoe; and one great grandchild, Dusty.

Sister, Beth Lawless, of Howe Tx.

Also many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews,

aunties, in-laws and outlaws, and so many friends.

Predeceased by his wife Rhonda and brother, Slim.

He has gone to the Father and is rejoicing with his beloved Rhonda.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday at Myers & Smith Chapel with

burial at Trinity Memorial Park
