James Eichorst Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Zahoran Funeral Home - South Bend on Aug. 7, 2023.
Obituary
James A. "Doc/Ike/Jimmy" Eichorst, 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in his residence.
Jim was born on July 17, 1962 in South Bend, Indiana, to John and Jane (Nelson) Eichorst. He was a graduate of the 1980 Clay High School Class. He then went on to graduate from Ball State with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in 1985. After graduating from college, Jim pursued a career in Network Administration. On July 12, 1986 Jim married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Swift. If he was not in front of a computer, you would have found him coaching hockey, playing adult hockey, enjoying time golfing, kayaking, or fishing with his dad. We will never forget Jim's love for the beach, cooking for family and friends, watching the masters, and going to the Indy 500. His biggest joy in life was being able to spend time with his family, especially most recently when it came to watching his granddaughter's sporting events.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Eichorst; children, Cassandra Sacha, Ryan (Danielle) Eichorst, and Connor Eichorst; grandchildren, Ava Lou Sacha, and Jonah James Eichorst; father, John Eichorst; siblings, Janet Eichorst, Julie (Stephen) Collier, and John Eichorst 11; as well his beloved dog, Roxy. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Jane (Nelson) Eichorst.
A Service will be held at 4 pm followed by a gathering for the Celebration of his Life from 4:30 to 7:30pm Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. I didn't know him personally, but my dad and his were best friends in high school and remained friends.
