James Robert Ensor was born at home on March 12, 1943, at Ensor Bottom on Minelick Creek (Baxter, TN). He passed away on August 7, 2025 in Dayton, OH.
James proudly served 3 yrs in the US Army stationed at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas before getting married. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Rodenburg, on June 3, 1966. He worked as a Self Employed Contractor for most of his life and retired at the age of 81. James was a lifetime member of Spinning Road Baptist church.
He is survived by his Wife, Dorothy J. Ensor of 59 years; Daughter, Kelly Marie (Greg) Bush; Son, Robert Lasley Ensor; Five Grandchildren Josh Bush, Lauran (Drew) Dice, Samuel Bush, James (Sarah) Ensor and Samantha (Nathaniel) Hartman; Two Great Grandchildren, Liam Ensor and Boston Dice; Sisters, Mary Virginia (TJ) Bennet and Margaret (Wayne) Barron and many other loving family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Father, Robert Jonathan Lasley Ensor; Mother, Nettie Tallant Ensor, his Brother, Jonathan Lasley (Carol) Ensor; Sister, Betty Lou (Darnell) Pugh; and Great Grandchild, Phineas Ensor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Spinning Road Baptist Church in James' honor.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a Funeral Service to follow at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). James will be laid to rest at Polk Grove Cemetery (9190 Frederick Pike, Dayton, OH 45414) following the service.
