James W. Erickson

Webster: Friday, May 30th, 2025 at the age of 78. James is predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Jane Erickson; his son, Alan Kosel. He is survived by his children, Jennifer (Philip) Cozzo, Lori Mariani, Deanna Seiler and Scott Kosel; former spouse, Donna Erickson; brothers, Steven (Sharon) and Dan (Sue) Erickson; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
James was a graduate of Charlotte High School and earned his Associate's degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. He would go on to become an electrician and spent many years at both Kodak and Xerox. James was also a proud veteran of the Navy serving on the USS Battleship, New Jersey during the Vietnam War.
James had many interests and hobbies which included, model trains, reading and writing, Dickens Christmas Village, Star Trek, Math and Science. James particularly enjoyed bingo nights and would always get the correct answers at Jeopardy during his stay at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center where he lived for the past 4 years. He was also quite fond of the therapy dogs there which reminded him of his beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Tobey.
Family and friends are welcome Wednesday, June 4th from 4-7pm at the Profetta Funeral Chapel 1650 Empire Blvd. James' Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 5th 10am at St. Paul's Church. Interment will take place at Western New York National Cemetery in Corfu, NY.
