James E. Escoe, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at the age of 83.

James was born on November 6, 1941, in Clarke County, to the late Jack and Mary B. Escoe. He earned his GED and later attended the IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship School in Atlanta. James was a master of his trade, respected for his skill and dedication.

In 1991, James and his son Robert "Robby" M. Escoe started Escoe Industrial, building a business grounded in hard work and family values.

Outside of work, James enjoyed golf, fishing, hunting, and riding his Polaris. He especially loved traveling to St. Simons, where he made many memories with family and friends. A man of deep faith, James read his Bible through 15 times and lived each day guided by his strong religious convictions. Above all, he loved his family dearly.

James is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Brenda H. Escoe; his son, Robert M. Escoe (Janet); grandchildren Brandon M. Escoe, Brittney L. Escoe, Morgan B. Wainwright and James D. Skipper; and great-grandchildren Bentley, Ryder, Easton, Wyatt, and Willow.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Hall; his parents, Jack and Mary B. Escoe; sisters Catherine Ray and Jackie Young; and brothers Gary, Harry, and Freddy Escoe.

Pallbearers will be Stan Ogletree, James Mullins, Joey Butler, James Skipper, Mike Martin, Sid Arnold, and Woody Fields.

A man of faith, James lived by the words of Matthew 25:23: "Well done, good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of your Lord."

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of faith, love, and family will live on.

Services for Mr. Escoe will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 1PM at Lord and Stephens West Chapel. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
