James Finucane Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mission Park Funeral Chapels Cherry Ridge on Aug. 19, 2025.
James Holliday Finucane, Jr., was born on June 2,1939 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 13, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. He was blessed with 86 years of life. Jim was fondly known by friends and family as "Jimmy". He honorably served in the United States Air Force and was a life-long member of the Oklahoma Masons. He was proud to be a lifetime member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 142, and of his accomplishment of being a teacher in air conditioning and refrigeration at St. Phillip's College. Jim was proceeded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years Rose; his son Jay; and his brother Danny Lee. He is survived by his wife of 11 years Margie Finucane; his loving daughter Terrie Leonard and husband Randy; his son Michael Finucane and wife Jennifer; his sister Mary Ann Finucane; sister-in-law Marian Hubbard; grandchildren Jayna Finucane, Brandon Padier, Gavin and Eliana Finucane, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, church family, and a host of friends near and far. Jim was an avid fisherman and outlived most of his fishing buddies; which worked great for Jim's other pastime of telling stories and jokes - his buddies not being here to refute those "fish tales." Jim's faith in Christ was the cornerstone of his life and he was ordained as a Deacon, a calling he wholeheartedly took on with humility and grace. You could often hear him singing one of his favorite hymns as he worked in his shop or yard. Jim was known to all as a man of God and his life verse was John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I (Jesus) have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly." Serving as pallbearers: James Bynum, Joshua Gilmore, Sheldon Leonard, Glen McCombs, Brandon Padier, C.R. Pullin, Randy Leonard and Clayton Leonard.
