James Phillip Flynn

James Phillip Flynn (81), known affectionately by friends and family as "Jimbo", passed away on November 11, 2025 in Spokane, Washington with his wife Debbie, his son Sean, and daughter-in-law Bethanny by his side.

Jimbo was born and raised in Spokane and graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School, class of 1963. He was proud of his Irish roots, his Catholic faith, and the life he built in the place he always called home.

Anyone who knew him knows that his sense of humor was unmatched. He was a true goofball who loved to joke around and always found a way to make others laugh. He enjoyed watching westerns and sports, going out to dinner at Golden Corral or Longhorn Barbecue, making trips with friends to the casino, reading history or sports books, walking the dog, and keeping his legendary sweet tooth well fed. He also never turned down a chance to play Phase 10 or Sequence, and was known to bend the rules just enough to keep his winning streak going.

Jim spent 30 years married to the loved of his life, Debbie, and one of the greatest joys he experienced was becoming a father to his son, Sean, in 1996. Family was everything to him, with some of his happiest memories coming from their yearly trips to Yellowstone National Park, often shared with a rotating crew of close friends.

Jimbo was kind, funny, and truly unforgettable. He brought humor everywhere he went and could turn an ordinary day into a story worth retelling. His family and friends will always remember his jokes, his quick wit, and the unique way he made life feel lighter. We were lucky to love him and even luckier to be loved by him.
