It is with sadden hearts that we announce the passing of James R. Foley, lovingly known as Jimmy. Beloved husband, father, grandfather & uncle.
James passed away on February 11, 2026, at the age of 77. He departed peacefully at home surrounded by his family after fighting many years of chronic illnesses with great strength and a positive attitude. He always had a smile on his face no matter how bad he was feeling.
James was born on October 7, 1948, in
Beverly, MA. Son of the late Marguerite (Terry) and James Foley. Brother to the late Michael Foley. Graduate from Beverly Trade School, where he began his career as a lifelong Machinist.
He was employed by Sylvania of Danvers, Gloucester Engineering and Teledyne of
Seabrook, NH.
Devoted, caring husband and father, James shared over 57 loving years of marriage with his beloved and dedicated wife Carol (Brault). His deep love and favorite joys in life meant spending time together with his cherished family. As well as spending time here and in Florida with many friends. James leaves behind his loving, caring sons, Sean Foley, his wife Christine, and Scott Foley, his wife Heidi. Also cherished and adored grandchildren, Kristen, Connor, Jacob and Emma Foley; several wonderful nieces and nephews and cousins and brother in-law, who were all special to him in many ways. Many wonderful and special friends.
Those who knew him will remember him for his caring ways and his beautiful smile!!
He will live on and be forever in the hearts of his family and friends. Jim, you can rest in peace now!
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the Sacred Heart Church, 165 S. Main Street, Haverhill from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the
American Lung Association, The American Kidney Foundation, The
