James Jim C. Forbes

James (Jim) C. Forbes, 73, of Unicoi, TN, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Jim was survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Carol. Other survivors include his son Kevin and his wife Shirleen and their sons Ian and Patrick Hinch of Churchville, MD; his daughter Michelle Koehler and her husband, Kirk and their two children Killian and Kennedy of Baltimore, MD; and brothers Roy of Fayettville, PA, Ronald of Bel Air, MD, and Larry of Houston, TX. After thirty-three years of Federal Service, Jim retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1999 and moved from Street, MD to Unicoi, TN. His favorite past time was restoring classic cars and attending car shows with family and friends. He was an active member of both the Bethesda Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church and the Unicoi Masonic Lodge. Prior to moving to Unicoi, TN, Jim served many years as treasurer of Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Street, MD. A memorial service took place at the Bethesda Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Johnson City, TN on September 4th. The Forbes family will also receive friends on Wednesday, September 9th, from 6-8 pm, with the funeral service following at 8 pm, at the McComas Funeral Home in Abingdon, MD. The internment will take place 11am on September 10th at Harford Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen, MD. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a memorial contribution be made to the Bethesda Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church - 1607 E. Unaka Avenue Johnson City, TN 37601.
