James H. Forrest
January 2, 1934-May 19, 2025
James H. Forrest of Fish Lake passed away Monday, May 19 in his home with his loving family by his side.
James was born January 2, 1932 in Monette, Ark to Henry Forrest and Rhoda (McAfee) Forrest.
He came to the La Porte area in June of 1952 and lived the rest of his life in this area. On June 11, 1954 he married Norlene Benedict in South Bend, IN. Norlene passed away on Sept 3, 2000 and James was proceeded in death by his parents, and a sister, and a brother. He is survived by his two daughters and grand-children.
James worked as a mechanic for Clemons Truck Lines, Tucker Freight Lines, and retiring January 1995 from Pre4ston Trucking Co. after 32 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 364 as a mechanic.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. A private family burial will be held at Patton Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in James name.
