James Foy, III Obituary
James H. "Jim" Foy, III, age 84, of Holmes, PA sadly passed away on February 23, 2024.
Jim grew up in Southwest Philadelphia and attended Most Blessed Sacrament grade school. He is a 1957 graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys, and worked for 40 years as an electrician and foreman with IBEW Local 98.
Jim will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made throughout his life. He will be remembered for his friendly nature and sense of humor – always with a funny story or comment that made everyone laugh. He loved vacations at the Jersey shore, Notre Dame football, and telling stories of his years growing up in Southwest Philly. He maintained many friendships throughout his entire life with people he met as a child. Jim took great pride in his Irish heritage and his longtime union membership. His strong work ethic and expertise in his trade earned him the respect of his fellow electricians throughout his career.
Jim has had a significant impact on so many lives. Please feel free to share your stories about him on this forum.
Jim is survived by his daughter Christine (Foy) Zerbe, his son-in-law Gerald Zerbe, his grandchildren Erin Zerbe and Luke Zerbe, and his sisters Eleanor Breslin and Eileen Foy. He was preceded in death by his parents James H. Foy, II and Frances "Toots" (Gorman) Foy, his brother Joseph Foy, sister Ann Sherwood, sister Mary Armstrong, brother Jack Foy, and brother Francis X. Foy.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Monday, March 4, 2024 9:30am Our Lady of Fatima Church, 1 Fatima Dr., Secane, PA 19018 and to his Funeral Mass 10:30am in the Church. Burial private.
