James Gallagher Obituary
James L. Gallagher Jr., 88, of Allison Park, formerly of Fox Chapel, passed away peacefully on December 10th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecelia Coursey Gallagher, his parents, James Leo and Ann Gallagher and his sister, Mary Katherine Aldinger. Jim is survived by his sons Michael and Shawn (Sara) Gallagher, his daughter, Megan Gallagher, his brother Michael (Jane) Gallagher and his five cherished grandchildren.
Born in Braddock, Jim graduated from Swissvale High School and went on to earn both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Jim enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career with Westinghouse Electric Corporation in the nuclear industry, retiring in 2000. His work took him to more than 40 countries, including extended residencies with his family in Belgium and Spain. Following retirement, he remained active as a consultant in the energy and environmental sectors and served on several boards of directors. He was a proud member of Wildwood Golf Club. Jim was my favorite boss of all time. He got me promoted to General Manager and brought me down to Aiken SC where I eventually became the business unit President. I will always remember his commitment to hard work , to his family, and to his employees .
