James Garrison Obituary
James was born January 2, 1943, in Girard, IL, a son of William Lloyd and Laura Jane Oakley Garrison. He proudly served in the US Army after graduation from Virden High School with the class of 1961.
James worked as a factory worker at Henry Technologies in Chatham, IL. His hobbies were golf, fishing, and working in the yard and with flowers. He loved to watch the purple martins.
James was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, Patricia Boudrie Garrison, brother, Tom Garrison, and companion of eleven years, Maggie Gravelle.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, 1-3 pm at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2026 at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Girard, IL.
Burial will follow at a later date in Virden Cemetery, Virden, IL.
James is survived by his brother, Lee (Alice) Garrison of Girard, IL, sister, Shirley Meade of Girard, IL, and sister, Carol (Larry) Renetzky of Conroe, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Virden, IL.
Davis-Anderson Funeral Homes, Girard is in charge of arrangements.

I am sure going to miss my Purple Martin buddy. So glad we met and you and Maggie were able to come and watch our birds. I am blessed that you wanted me to have your houses to help carry on your colony. You will be truly missed by my wife and I. Fly high buddy.
