James M. Gist, Jr., age 73, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021. James was born to James M. Gist, Sr. and Thelma (Reutter) Gist on December 16, 1947 in Evansville, Indiana.

James was a kind hearted man, a jack of all trades with a funny sense of humor who enjoyed giving random surprises. His long career was devoted to sales and solutions in the bearing and power transmission industry at Bearing Service, Kaman, and Bearing Distributors. In his spare time he enjoyed boats, tinkering on things, railroads, model building, intricate restorations and witty dad jokes. He especially enjoyed and loved spending time with his family.

James is preceded in death by his parents Mel (James) and Thelma Gist. He is survived by his daughter Jasmine (Gary) Folz and his son Scott (Jennifer) Gist; his grandchildren Jamison Gist, Kendall Gist, Elijah Folz, and Ellie Folz; his wife and close friend Nancy Gist. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Dana Schroeder and Dawn Gist-Heinen; nephews Chance Heinen and Austin Schroeder and a host of extended family and friends.

Dear Nancy and family, So sorry to hear of Jim´s passing. Thinking of him brings back a lot of memories of Jim being at our house in the younger years, visiting with my brothers. He was funny! We all had a lot of laughs with the boys and Mom. Good memories! We will be thinking of you and praying for peace for your family.
