James Ray "Jimbo" Glaze

James "Jimbo" Ray Glaze, 54 of Lafayette passed away after a long fought battle with cancer at Franciscan Health.

He was born on New Years Eve of 1971 To Sandra (Putz) Glaze and the late Wayman Thomas Sr.

Jimbo enjoyed listening to music and working out. He was also a boxer, competing and winning a Golden Gloves title in his younger years. He still enjoyed boxing at the Southside Gym. He was also known to build bikes and scooters and loved fast cars. Most of all he enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

James was baptized at Mt. Hope Church.

On his birthday in 2021 he married Kayla Breaux.

He is survived by his wife, Kayla Breaux, his mother, Sandra Glaze, his children, Adrienne Kyles, Miranda Glaze, Tayton Morehouse-Glaze, Cortnie James, and Veronica Myers, his grandmother, Mawmaw Needer, and his brother Richard (Heather) Glaze all of Lafayette. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, his uncle, Terry Thomas, cousins, Tracy Thomas and Jamie Thomas, nephew, Colton Thomas, and best friends, Jason Bader, Amber James, Jennifer Ferguson, Felicia Weatherford, Brandy Wheat, and Donnie Hilderbrand and his dog, Debo who misses him a lot.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Wayman Thomas Jr., sister, Brandy Thomas, and his nephew, Jordan Thomas.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tom Camp officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
