James F. "Jim" Goerne, 78 of Streator passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.
Jim was born August 26, 1947 in Streator, a son of Ralph and Ora (Rathbun) Goerne.
He is survived by a son, Clint Goerne of Streator; a daughter, Jackie (Leroy) Ranger of San Antonio, TX; and 4 grandchildren, Kyle Ranger, Sam Goerne, Mallory Goerne, and Josie Goerne.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim was a pipefitter and had worked his entire career for Metcalf Martin Plumbing in Streator. He was a member of the Local 81 and Local 597.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in Northern Wisconsin. He loved following his grandkids' sporting events and looked forward to his visits to Texas, which always included lunch at "Miller Bills".
Following Jim's wishes, cremation will take place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hagi & Schultz Funeral Home, Streator has been entrusted with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
