James Dero Goodman, known as Jim, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed at his home on January 21, 2026, at the age of 67. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on July 29, 1958, Jim faced a variety of health challenges throughout his life, but he approached each day with resilience and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the country life he loved.
Jim had a special bond with his twin brother, John Goodman, which was truly unique; they shared an unbreakable connection that only identical twins can understand. Throughout their younger years, they often engaged in playful "twin conversations," a language only they could comprehend, a testament to their extraordinary relationship. A lover of nature, Jim enjoyed tending to his flower garden and taking peaceful walks, often finding solace in the flowers he nurtured. His warmth and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by those who loved him.
Jim is survived by his beloved twin brother, John Goodman; sister, Ann Morton (Roger); nephews, Jeremiah (Shaina) and Josh; niece, Rachel (James); and great-nephews, Max, Henry, Finley, and Oliver. James was preceded in death by his parents: Jack Gilliam and Helen Ezell Goodman
A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
