James Allen Gormley, 60, of Hoxie, died September 7, 2025. He was born September 10, 1964, in Quinter, KS to Jerome “Jerry” and Roberta “Jeanie” (Stephens) Gormley. Jim was a good athlete in school and graduated with the Grinnell High School class of 1983. After graduating he began farming, taking care of cattle, driving semi and chopping silage. He was also a jack of all trades and enjoyed tinkering in his shop. Jim had two beautiful children, Casey and Collin, who loved to help him on the farm. He was strong in his faith and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, Jim enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching Chiefs football and spending time with his two grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by parents, Jerry and Jeanie Gormley; son Collin Gormley; uncles, Charlie Huelsmann, Randall Struckhoff, Roger Hartman and Stanley Stephens; aunt Anita Huelsmann and many other family members.
He is survived by his daughter Casey (Anthony) Franssen; grandchildren, Gavin and Lydia; sister Shari (Don) Burks; brother Steve (Melissa Shupe) Gormley; girlfriend Angie Pratt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation begins at 9:00 a.m., with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell, with burial in the church cemetery.
