Myrtle Alice Ludlow, 86, of Laramie, WY, died Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was born December 7, 1938, in Greeley, CO, to Abram Lee and Herma Ruth (Hoff) Helton. Myrtle grew up in Greeley and graduated from Greeley High School in 1956.After high school Myrtle moved to Washington, DC with her sister LouVerne, and worked at a bank before eventually ending up back in Greeley. She was united in marriage to James Jesseph Sr in 1958, and they were blessed with 5 children. Together they owned several businesses which took them to CO, NM, WY, KS, and NE.
In 1988 she married Dean Ludlow and they settled down in Colby, KS.
Myrtle was proud to retire from Thomas County ADAC in Colby. She was also a member of the American Legion and VFW Auxiliary there.
Myrtle was known by friends and family as being the best cook. She always made plenty of food for the people around her, even if you were a stranger. You could either find her in the kitchen whipping up something delicious, or in her recliner embroidering tea towels. Myrtle cherished all of her family, and especially loved being a grandma. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents Abram Lee and Herma Ruth; husbands, Jim Jesseph Sr and Dean Ludlow; son Leland Jesseph; grandson Benjamin Bowen; and siblings, Henrietta, Louis, Henry, Raymond, James, Robert and Philip.
She is survived by her children, Renee (David) Roeder, Albert (Kathy) Jesseph, Jamie Bowen and Jim (Cindy) Jesseph; sister LouVerne Tucker; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2025, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby, with burial in the Winona Cemetery, Winona, KS.
