Robinson & Hackemer Funeral HomeAge 74, passed away peacefully at Gateway Home in Attica, NY, on November 14, 2025, surrounded by love.
Jim was born on October 11, 1951, in Salamanca, NY, the son of the late James Graham Sr. and Hattie Marie (Wilson) Graham. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna (Murdock), and his daughters, Sarah L. Graham and Kristine M. Graham, who were the pride and joy of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Debra D’Avanzato, his niece, Catherine D’Avanzato (Eric Bennett), and great-nieces and great nephews who adored their “Uncle Jim.”
Jim devoted 37 years to teaching mathematics at the Alexander Central School District, where he inspired countless students and colleagues. He was also proud to serve as president of the NYS United Teachers Association, always standing up for his peers and for education.
Outside of school, Jim poured his heart into his community. He was an active member of the YMCA and the Wyoming County Community Hospital Auxiliary, where he served as both vice president and treasurer. He also volunteered regularly at the local food pantry, always finding joy in helping others.
Jim’s kindness, humor, and steady presence touched everyone who knew him. He was the first to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer words of encouragement. His legacy will live on in the lives he influenced and the love he shared.
