James Michael Green, 75, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024, at Heisinger Bluffs Senior Living Community.
James was born on December 2, 1948, in Ironton, Missouri, the son of Arthur James and Virginia Josephine (Baker) Green.
A 1966 graduate of Arcadia Valley High School in Ironton, Missouri, James earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and an Associate of Arts Degree in Computer Science in 1975 from Southeast Missouri State University.
On September 9, 1978, he was united in marriage to Susan Diana Pritchard in Jefferson City, who resides at the home.
He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
James worked for the State of Missouri at the Department of Economic Development Division of Workforce Development as an auditor and later as their IT manager.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6660 and a former member of Ducks Unlimited.
James was passionate about hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting. He looked forward to each hunting or fishing season and spending time in nature often camping with family and friends. He enjoyed watching car races and was especially proud to complete the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School. Jim enjoyed watching sports but was especially enthused to watch his grandson play hockey and shoot archery. He was proud to pass his love of hunting, fishing, and the outdoors on to his family. Jim was very dedicated to his family and supportive of all their endeavors.
He is survived by his wife, Susan; a daughter, Heather (Craig) Davenport, Jeferson City; one grandson, Cyrus Davenport; one step grandson Cole Davenport; and a brother, Danny Joe (Kay) Green, Jefferson City as well as fond in-laws, nephews and nieces and a host of longtime friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes.
A memorial service with military honors will be 2:30 p.m., Thursday, February 8, 2024, at Trimble Funeral Homes with Rev. John Kerr officiating.
Memorials are suggested to the American Parkinson Disease Association in hopes that future research will lead to a cure.
