James Greene Obituary
James Louis Greene, age 87 of Wartburg, passed away on September 2, 2025.
James was a 1956 graduate of Central High School in Wartburg. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. He delivered mail in Wartburg for 40+ years before retiring. James was also known for his love for flying. He was an avid pilot and loved flying with his friends and his family.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Schubert) and Bruce Greene, brother Bruce (Buddy) Greene.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janet Greene, son Richard (Dana) Greene. Grandchildren, Kayla Stewart, Richard (Lindsay) Greene, Brooke (Michael) Thacker and a host of great grandchildren.
A special thank you to all of James’s hospice nurses and caregivers.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 5, 2025 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be Saturday, at 11:00 a.m. in the Liberty Church Cemetery.
