James F. Grover Sr, 79, of Mason City passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Mercy One North Iowa Medical Center. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday August 16, 2024, at the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family of James Grover Sr.
James Franklin Grover Sr. was born on July 13, 1945, in Franklin County to parents Frederick and Elizabeth (Peterson) Grover. James attended school in Mason City. He began working at Chamberlain, eventually becoming the service manager. Following his time at Chamberlain, James began working for the Heritage Care Center as a member of the maintenance crew and did so for over 30 years.
On September 24, 1988, James was united in marriage to Donna Ford. James was an avid bowler, Vikings and NASCAR fan. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle. James loved his family dearly and was always there to tease his kids and grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Jimmy (Holly) Grover, Jodi (Jerome) Clock, Jamie (Curt) Johnson, Tara (Eric) Banse, Toni Ford; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brothers, Roger and John Grover.
He was preceded in death by his parents; uncles, Bill, Bob, and Frank Grover.
