James Wilbur Hall

Mr. James Wilbur Hall, age 79, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family and under the care of Cornerstone Hospice of The Villages, FL. James was born and raised in Baxley, GA, and after leaving school, he joined the U.S. Army, serving at Fort Lewis, Washington, and Korea for two years, attaining the rank of Sergeant (SGT). He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Rifleman's Badge. After his discharge, he moved to Summerfield, Florida, where he raised and trained greyhounds for Mr. Spradling. Later, he worked for Van More as a master carpenter for over 25 years. After retiring, he purchased several horses and loved spending time on the farm and trail riding with his friends.

Mr. Hall is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest W. "Peg" and Maggie Smiley Hall; his brothers, Eugene Hall and George Hall, and two sisters, Maggie Lee Spears and Mildred Aspinwall.

Survivors include his current wife, Theresa Alden Hall; a son, Vernon (Christine) Hall; two daughters, Tishia (Thomas) Hodges and Judy (Jeremy) Dineen; his brothers, Jerry (Kim) Hall and Nathan Hall (Jeanne Armour); one sister, Susie (Robert) Thornton; his four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 12:00 P.M. from the chapel of Nobles Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Brown officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Inurnment will be in Zoar Cemetery with Military Honors.
