Jimmy, I can´t believe it has been a year since your passing. I was privileged to be your friend since high school. I always loved getting messages from you and enjoyed talking to you on the phone the time I called you because I had nothing else to do. I really miss you and you saying "what a riot"! Jimmy was my neighbor, my friend. Not only was he friendly and easy to chat with, but he was the one I turned to if I (a single parent) wasn´t feeling well and needed someone to pick my son up from school or bring him something to eat. I knew he didn´t mind, that he was happy to help. I´m sad and shocked to hear of his passing. . . . I moved away from Reno two decades ago. We always exchanged Christmas greetings. This year, they will be through prayer.

To the Hamalian family, (and all of Jimmy´s friends and loved ones): I had the distinct honor and pleasure to call Jimmy my best friend for well over three decades. He will forever be one of the kindest, most-giving souls ever to grace this earth. I will always cherish the fun times, laughter, and memories we shared throughout our longstanding friendship. And I will look back fondly at all our adventures we had both in NJ, and here in Nevada and the scenic Wild West - in which he truly loved and enjoyed immensely. In so many ways he really was like a brother, as well as a mentor to me, and always there to lend support. There will forever be a giant hole in my heart from this tragic and sudden loss. My profound condolences go out to his entire family, and all who loved him for the beautiful spirit that he was and will always remain. To the Hamalian Family and Louie. I have spent the last few days trying to compose myself enough to write how much I share in your grief. I met Jimmy in Jr. high school when I was 13. He was my brother, my boyfriend, and most of all my friend. We visited each other as adults and Paul and I went to see Jimmy on our honeymoon. Jimmy loved my mom and grandma and visited with them too. In essence, Jimmy was my past and the only remaining friend from growing up in North Caldwell. I remember driving down Bloomfield Ave. with paper bags over our heads with eye holes cut out. I remember pretending we were married and looking at apartments together. I rember all the times I danced and sang with Jimmy. I remember him taking me to New York when he worked for Dupont and him visiting me in Florida. I remember hoing to Vermont and upstate New York with him to visit my stepbrother and our friend Steve Nordfors. I visited him in Reno and he visited here in Lake Oswego. In short, Jimmy was in my life for 57 of my 70 years on this earth. I will miss the part of my heart that was him until heaven. Should any of you wish to speak to me , my phone is 503-620-1500. We are so saddened by the loss of a dear friend and wonderful person. When we left Reno last May to move back east, Jimmy gave us a care package for our journey across the country. That was the kind of person he was. Always thinking about others and doing those little things that make people feel cared for. We are going to miss the animated get-togethers with him. He always made those times feel especially fun and special. We will forever miss you, Jimmy. You'll always be a bright star in our life.

Dear Stacia, Gary and Peter,
I am shocked and deeply saddened by the loss of you brother and one of my dearest friends. Most of my fondest memories of the Hamalian clan are those from Chadwick Beach. The parties, the beach, the laughter, swimming across the lagoon were all made memorable by Jimmy´s booming voice and kind heart. I have lost a piece of my heart that will be gone forever.
Jim will always be remembered. A life so filled with brightness can never be extinguished.

We were so very shocked and saddened upon hearing of our friend Jimmy´s sudden passing. No words can express our deepest sympathies to his beloved family and dear friends. We will miss his always cheerful and fun-loving personality. He was the sweetest, kindest person who was always there to lend a helping hand to his family and friends. At gatherings and home dinners there was no fear of an uncomfortable lull in the conversation. There was no elephant in the room when Jimmy was there.
Rest in peace, dear Jimmy, until we meet again. We know you will welcome us with open arms and a great, big smile.
