I am sending my warmest condolences and sympathies to the family of Jim Hansen, even if it has been a while since Jim passed, we still feel the sting of his loss. He had an enormous amount of palpable love that he extended. . He will truly be missed by many of us. Olympia Kallman

Iam shocked to hear just yesterday I met at friend of the library. Jim was a wonderful, caring, man. I was out of work twice, total 2 years, lost my Dad and he was very comforting and helpful. He helped me thru a very dark time in my life. May he rest in peace and I am confident he is with the angels in heaven. TT, Nov. 13, 2014.

I was out of work for almost two years. It was a rough period in my life, but the one thing that helped me get through it was attending Jim's weekly job club meetings at the library.

Jim was always very welcoming. He was compassionate, and always had a great sense of humor. I truly looked forward to these meetings, where me made us realize we were not alone.

I will miss Jim!! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

I am so very sorry to hear of Jim's passing... I first met him in 2005 at a career search meeting he was conducting at CCPL. He helped me realize my career passion, and inspired me to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I will never forget his kind heart, gentle guidance, and humorous take on life. He could inspire you to keep going at the toughest times. He will be truly missed by the many people whose lives he touched. A bright light has been lost in this world but gained in another. My deepest sympathy to his family.
Jim, we will all miss you!!

I am sad to hear of Jim's passing. We met through his Job Clubs held in library branches in Fairview Park and North Olmsted. His kind support and encouragement were served with a marvelous sense of humor. I will never forget the time spent with him, how he cared for others, or the encouragement received. We have truly lost a bright light.

I am now working for Toledo Public Schools, but the 22 months I was unemployed in 2012 and 2013, Jim was an encouragement every week at the CCPL Job Clubs in Fairview and North Olmsted, and will be missed by all job seekers in the Greater Cleveland area.

I first met Jim at the Cuyahoga Public library Job Club in 2009. He was an amazing person. He was very interested in helping people and clearly cared very much about others. With the Job Club, he made what could have been a very difficult and negative situation into a positive, informative and even fun experience. He had a zest for life and had a fastastic sense of humor I feel very priveledged to have known him. He will be greatly missed.

Jim you touch so many lives in such a special way. I will never forget the gloves that he gave to his job club members, that had been in his car for months. We all loved you Jim!

I met Jim at the North Olmsted job club about five years. The only thing that I looked forward to every week was to hear Jim at the job club. He taught us to have hope and to feel good about ourselves even we were at rock bottom. I cherish all the kind words, advise, and jokes we had with Jim. My deepest sympathy to the family. He is in a beautiful place surrounded by angels. He will greatly missed.

I first met Jim in 2012 at the library for several career counseling sessions. What a warm and wonderful personality—interesting, fun, colorful. He was full of ideas and our conversations went in many directions. He sure had a special way of connecting to people. No doubt he will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Heartfelt sympathy to Jim's family...

I am saddened to learn of Jim's passing. I was one of the many of whose life was greatly impacted by Jim's kind words, guidance, and sense of humor. While I would greatly like to attend his celebration of life, I will be working. I have Jim to thank for that. Until the day we meet again.

My sympathy to each of you on Jim Hansen's passing. I was among the many people who found themselves unemployed in 2009 and I attended many of the classes Mr. Hansen did at Fairview Park Library - he showed us how to have hope and be patient. Thanks to what I learned, I was able to find employment again. He was a gift to many of us.

We are so saddened to have heard of Jim's passing away from all of us, especially those of us who were the fortunate beneficiaries of his priceless counsel and advice in our quest for employment. Jim's kind, caring, compassionate, encouraging and knowledgeable assistance via the Cuyahoga County Public Library's Career Search Services were legendary! A tireless champion of those searching for work, his efforts and legacy will long live on, and will NEVER be forgotten by so many! On behalf of all those in the Library's "Job Clubs" we say a fond farewell to a dear friend and mentor! May your living example so greatly lived be a light and beacon to us all!
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace; may his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace; amen!
Farewell, dear friend - and thank you - we WILL meet again, someday in Heaven!
