James Hanses Obituary

Sedro-Woolley - James Anthony Hanses, 75, of Sedro-Woolley passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. Jim was born on January 26, 1948, to Anthony and Louise (Zix) Hanses in Elmhurst, Illinois. He was married to Robin Hanses and is survived by his sons, Jason and Anthony Hanses, and his grandson, Cadence James.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Louise Hanses, and his wife, Robin Katherine (Gussman) Hanses.

Jim was a proud member of the US Air Force, having served in Vietnam, and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. In his last few years, he was a strong advocate for the recognition of the impacts caused by Agent Orange on Vietnam veterans and ongoing care and treatment for those who were exposed during their service.

Jim was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years, most recently with Conway, where he achieved over one million consecutive miles without an accident.

Funeral arrangements will be held 11:00, Wednesday, June, 2023 at Lemley Funeral Chapel in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Share your memories of James and sign the online guest register at www.lemleychapel.com.
