James G Hanus

James (Jim) Gregory Hanus, 63, of Merrifield, MN passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Tuesday November 21, 2023.

James was born to Wally and Jean Hanus on June 20, 1960, in Robbinsdale, MN. He was the youngest of their four children.

On November 30th 1991, Jim and Roxanne Jans married in Crosslake, MN. They shared almost 32 years of married bliss together. Jim worked as the Director of Finance at Federal Cartridge for 25 years before retiring to his cabin in Crosslake, Mn. He enjoyed hunting, working outdoors, doing construction work, and most importantly spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. 

Jim was extremely strong in his faith. The only thing he loved more than his wife, kids, and grandchildren was the Good Lord, Himself. 

Jim is survived by his wife, Roxie. His children Amanda, Joshua (Becca), and Samantha (Connor), his grandchildren Clara, Hazel, and baby Hanus. His sisters, Deb, Jeanne, Theresa, and many cousins. 

He is preceded in death by Wally (Dad) and Jean (Mom).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 25, 2023, at 11:00am at Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Crosslake, MN. A Visitation will be held two hours prior to the start of the service at the church. Interment will be at Pinewood Cemetery in Crosslake.
