James Harris Obituary

Graveside services for Mr. Harris will be held at 11:30 AM Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Able Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends starting at 10 AM until time of services on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Foreman Funeral Home.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Hunt and Ira Harris; his spouse, Judy B. Harris, and his siblings, Richard Harris, Aaron Harris, and Marion Harris.
Mr. Harris is survived by his children, James and Lisa Harris, Todd and Lora Harris, Ken and Susan Harris; nephews that were like sons, Chris and Amy Byrd, and Chad Byrd; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; ; along with numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Pallbearers will include Ryan Harris, Matthew Harris, Austin Harris, Zach Byrd, Garvin Ayers, Kade Grant, and Will Money. Honorary pallbearers will include Garrett Mitchell and Lance Myers.
Mr. Harris served with the Alabama National Guard in the 101st Airborne Division as a Paratrooper and was Ranger certified. A man of courage and adventure, he also had a deep passion for aviation. He recently purchased two planes and built a landing strip on his property, pursing his dream of flying from home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pilot's for Christ.
