James Edward Heslin III ("Jim")
Born in Queens, New York, and raised on Long Island, Jim grew up in a large, loving family. In the mid-1970s, job opportunities brought the Heslin family to Atlanta, Georgia, where Jim graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Information Systems in 1984, launching a successful 30-year career as a sales executive at Hewlett-Packard.
Jim's life was filled with cherished pastimes and adventures. Weekends at the lake, skiing in Colorado, and cooking his legendary lasagna, pizza, and pancakes were among his favorite activities. After retiring, Jim and his wife embarked on travels that spanned the West Coast of the United States to Italy, recently checking off bucket list destinations in Hawaii and New Zealand.
A devoted golfer, Jim found immense joy and camaraderie on the golf course, sharing laughs and memories with his golf buddies and his two beloved sons.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Jim Heslin; his brother, Dennis Heslin; his mother-in-law, Ellyann Eason; and his special cousin, Jimmy Sarris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Luanne Eason Heslin; his sons, James Heslin IV (Jay) and wife Emily, with granddaughter Virginia expected in April, and Patrick Heslin and wife Mona. Jim was also a proud patriarch to an extended family he adored and is survived by his precious fur baby, Olive.
A service celebrating Jim's life will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Northside Chapel, located at 12050 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075, with Reverend Laura Eason, Jim's sister-in-law, officiating.
Following the service, a celebration of Jim's life will take place at Iron Horse Golf Club, 3430 Highway 9 N, Alpharetta, GA 30004, beginning at 12:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Jim's memory be made to the Schenck School Scholarship Fund, 282 Mount Paran Rd. NW, Atlanta, GA 30327-a cause dear to Jim's heart, as the school made a life-changing impact on his sons.
Jim's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
