James Monroe High, 97 of Crawfordville Fl. passed away peacefully at home on Saturday November 15, 2025.He was born on November 14, 1928, to Bruce C. High, Sr. and Ina Cox in Charleston. S.C... James was a member of the First Baptist Church in Crawfordville. He was an avid farmer and spent many years raising cattle, swine and chickens. He loved gardening and being on his tractor. He also liked hunting and fishing. He worked various jobs but retired from the state of Florida after 27 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years Joanne Parrish High, daughter Pat Langford, son and daughter in law Jimmy and Jackie High; Grandchildren Chad Roddenberry (Stacey) Shana Langston (Tommy), Jamie High (Haley) Shelby Screws (Josh) and Joe Langford (Pam);11 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; Mr. James had 4 Stepdaughters, Angie Williams (Ray), Jan Pearce (Bobby), Melanie Brindley and Stephanie Robinson (Greg); also 2 special family members Johnny Daniel and Mike Roddenberry, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years and the mother to his children Winonia High, brothers Asa, Bruce, D.P. and Tommy, his sisters Jo Daniel and Olivia MacRostie.
There are 4 special angels that took care of him so he could live at home, Angie Pope, Julie Panasek, Michelle Sanders and Stacey Wade.
Funeral Service will be Thursday at 11:00 A M November 20, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Crawfordville the family will receive friends starting at 10:00 A M prior to the service, burial will follow at the Crawfordville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crawfordville First Baptist Church.
