Hilliard, James Everett

of St Petersburg, FL , formerly of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away September 27, 2025. Born May 17, 1946 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to James and Kathleen Hilliard, Jim lived a life marked by passion, generosity and a deep dedication to his work and those around him.

Jim earned a master's degree from the University of Georgia, a testament to his commitment to excellence and education. He went on to build a distinguished career in real estate, becoming one of Atlanta's top agents and a respected figure in the industry. Beyond sales, Jim was also an avid investor, owning numerous properties throughout the city. His many accolades and awards in real estate were a source of pride for him, reflecting decades of hard work, business acumen, and dedication to his craft.

Those who know Jim remember him as fun-loving, kindhearted and generous. He had a unique ability to make people feel seen and supported, and he helped many along their own journeys both professionally and personally.

Jim is survived by his sister, Marsha Lynn Hobbs; his nephew, Jason Hobbs; and cousins, Diane Orear and Mary Jett. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

To celebrate his memory, donations may be made to the ACLU, in recognition of Jim's compassion and lifelong belief in fairness and equality for all.

Yesterday

Jim was a wonderful friend for about 20 years, and a joy to be around. He opened his home and his heart to those who appreciated him, and I am happy to have been one of those people. Lots of memories will keep his spirit alive in my life.

Yesterday

Jim was a dear friend for 25 years. So humble, a very generous guy with a heart of gold. Through good and bad times, he was always happy to have visitors to share his home and time with. He will be missed but memories of him will always be a comfort to me.
