James Hoadley

James A Hoadley, of Manton, dedicated husband, father and grandfather known as Poppy passed away at his home on January 17, 2023, at the age of 80.
He was born to Helena (Ferguson) and Walter Hoadley on October 16, 1942, on the family farmstead where he grew up helping with the horses and milking the cows.
James was a stranger to no one and found great purpose sharing in successes, joys, challenges, and his life adventures with those around him. James was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in his life. He never shied away from hard work working various jobs through the years as a construction worker, tree farmer, factory labor, mechanic working on his classic car, cowboy where he worked on a cattle ranch in 1980's.
In his quieter life closer to nature, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and taking care of his yard and being with his dog Midnight.
James was known for a lot of things, but his best, he was a dedicated father and husband. He was resilient and always a fighter to the end. He was determined to live longer than most thought.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary and two children Monica and John (Nancy) and adopted son Jeremy. 6 grandchildren Dominic, Dustin, Mariah, Andrea, Andrew, and Steve.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children Sheila and James; siblings Carl, Theodore, Susie, Jackie, Thelma and Anna, granddaughter Kayla Rose; niece Deanna and nephews Danny and Ronny.
The memorial gathering will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 4, at Colfax Community Church. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jamie for care you provided along with all the extra help. Arrangement by Jowett Family Funeral Home, Benzonia.
