James Howard "Jim" Hoffmeister, "Jamie" to his parents and siblings, age 62, resident of Broken Arrow went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Jim was born on March 29, 1960, in Topeka, Kansas to Richard and Lorene (McClelland) Hoffmeister. He was a graduate of Washburn Rural High School in 1978, and in 1982 he graduated with his degree in accounting from Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond, Oklahoma. Jim married the love of his life, Hannah Parker on December 21, 1985, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He worked for Rosenstein, Fist, & Ringold from 1990 until June 2022, where he was a Legal Administrator and a CPA. Jim was an active member of the Association of Legal Administrators where he served many roles including president of the Tulsa chapter. He also served on the Foundation for Tulsa Schools board. Jim was a member of Broken Arrow Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon, and most recently as a member of Open Door Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon and an Elder; he enjoyed serving as a song leader at both. He enjoyed playing charity golf and even got a hole in one at White Hawk Golf Course. Jim was a natural athlete and enjoyed playing recreational basketball and softball. He was an avid fan of OU and KU college sports as well as the Kansas City Chiefs. Jim had a gift for doing home improvement projects, enjoyed planting his garden, and loved gathering the family for his masterful barbecuing. Those who knew him will miss his strong presence and spontaneous generosity.

Jim "James" Forrest

February 13, 2023

When I first met Jim, it was in fourth grade at Sunny Elevation Elementary School. There were three "Jim's" in our class - so from that moment all the way through high school, Jim Hoffmeister became "Jamie" to all of us. I liked Jamie a lot. He was a great guy, blew a mean saxophone, and had a dynamite leg on the kickball field! He was bright, funny and had a wonderfully warm laugh. I was so very sorry to hear of his passing and extend my heartfelt condolences to his family for their loss. But like his family and so many others, I will remember him full of life and with a smile on his face...and it is those very memories of him that puts a smile on mine. Godspeed Jamie.
