James Franklin Holmes, 52, of Boxborough, MA, passed away on May 24, 2023. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is the son of James Calvin Holmes and Miriam (Arnold) Holmes. He attended the Acton-Boxboro Regional High School, in Acton, Massachusetts. In his younger years, James was a professional-level bodybuilder, possessing a physique that many world-level athletes of today would envy. He achieved this incredible feat completely naturally and steroid-free. James was also an extremely tough, intense, and talented martial artist, having trained and grappled with some of the top UFC fighters of the day. James was also an incredible musician, being able to sing and play guitar on a very high level. Above all, James was the kindest, sweetest, most honest, and benevolent human being you could ever meet on your worldly journey. He was also a man of great courage and one of reality, as he always had the courage to see the reality for what it truly was, no matter how frightening it may have sometimes been. James had considered denying reality as the greatest level of cowardice a person could show, and he was certainly a shining example of the complete opposite. He was also a man of God, and a man of his word, always.
James was a lover and a fighter. Throughout his years as a father and mentor, James had taught his son the most important things in life - how to be strong and resilient, be courageous and relentless when life demanded it, but most importantly, how to love and be loved in return. As James used to say, “as long as you love, you cannot lose”. That is how we know you had won the fight of life, James Franklin Holmes, as you had passed in peace and serenity, wishing nothing but love for your fellow benevolent people. A loving father, husband, son, friend, and mentor, James will live in our hearts forever.
James is survived by his loving mother, Miriam Holmes (nee Arnold); his loving and loyal son, Anton Trubitsyn; his former spouse Laura Perkinson; his closest friends John Eastman, Jeanine Amato, and Alexander Lazebnikov; and his uncle Carl Holmes, a US Navy Veteran. He is predeceased by his father James Calvin Holmes, friend Roselle Henderson, his beloved Uncle Eddie, and his very first girlfriend in his life, Maureen.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8th at 12:00pm at The Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend.
Rest in Peace, James Franklin Holmes, King James, The Greatest Human Being Of All Time, Jim, and simply “Dad”. Love you more than you could have possibly imagined in this life, forever and always, could not forget you if I tried.

Anton, I woke up yesterday morning feeling the need to reconnect with your dad and was so sad to learn about his passing. Jim was such an important presence in a formative period of my life and I'm a better person for having known him. My condolences to you and the other people in his life who loved him. May his memory be a blessing.
Sincerely, Carl Jacobson

James was such a friendly neighbor: always seemed to be smiling. Rest in peace.
