Lynn, MA - James A. "Jim" Homan, age 81, of Lynn, died on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Phyllis M. (LeBlanc) with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, in 1944, he was the son of the late Earl B. and Florence C. (MacDonald) Homan. He was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1962. He later went on to receive his bachelor's degree in education from Northeastern University. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War, rising to the rank of Captain, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. Jim worked as a mailman for the United States Post Office in Lynn from 1987-2007 and was a member of the Letter Carrier's Union, Branch 7. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots, and enjoyed tending to his prized tomatoes he grew every year in his garden and shared with everyone. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved grandchildren and family.
In addition to his wife Phyllis, Jim is survived by his loving daughters, Cynthia Lejeune and her husband Marc of Lynn, Laurene Vigliotta and her husband Frank of Groveland, and Susan Verrette and her husband John of Salem; his grandchildren, Olivia Lejeune and her fiancé Scott Draper, Jeremy Lejeune and his fiancé Rylie Edmonds, Gabby Lejeune, Vincent Vigliotta, Christopher Vigliotta, Erik Decker, and Evan Decker; his sisters-in-law, Anne Homan and Pamela Walker; his many nieces and nephews, and his adoring cat Lilly, granddog Elsa and grandcat Phoenix. He was predeceased by his brothers William and John Homan, his brother-in-law Thomas LeBlanc and his stepmother Laura Homan.
Service Information: A Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at 9:30a.m. from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt.129), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church, Lynn at 10:30a.m. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
