James Michael Horan
James Michael Horan, 71, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. He was born October 8, 1953, in Bronx, NY. James was predeceased by his parents George and Margaret Horan of Bronxville, NY and New Milford, CT, his brother Brian Horan and his sister Gail Tucker. James is survived by his brother, George (Lani) Horan of Auburn, CA; his sister-in-law Judith Westerhouse and brother-in-law Jeffrey Tucker; his nieces, Christy and Meghan; his nephews Joel, Brendan and Jeffrey and their children. He is also survived by his loving companion of 27 years, Linda Uzar.
James graduated from Tuckahoe High School and attended the University of Wisconsin. Prior to his retirement, James was employed by Blackstone Industries, where he worked as a machine and tool maker for 21 years. James enjoyed a wonderful life, growing up on Candlewood Lake. He was an avid golfer and spent many days sailing on Candlewood Lake. James loved to ride his Harley motorcycle with his friends. He also enjoyed snow skiing, especially the time he was able to ski in Switzerland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 170 Main St, Terryville. Burial will be at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Rd., Westbury, NY. Family and friends may visit at the Scott Funeral Home, 169 Main St., Terryville, from 8 a.m. until leaving for church. www.scottfuneralhomeinc.com
