James Horwatt Obituary

James Horwatt, 78, of Delmont, died Monday, April 21, 2025, at Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital. He was born May 24, 1946, in Greensburg, a son of the late Andrew and Kathryn (Wrobel) Horwatt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary C. Horwatt; and brothers, Andrew (Babe) Horwatt and Charles Horwatt. Prior to retirement, he was a union carpenter for Local 759. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed going to the casinos, horses, fishing, walking, trips to Ocean City, NJ, his morning breakfast at the Donut Chef, and feeding his many outdoor animals. Jim is survived by his two children, James (Amy) Horwatt and Jamie (Matthew) Crise; four grandchildren, Paige (Jake) Poremski , Zachary, Austin, and Mischa; and brother, Robert Horwatt. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Services entrusted to HOFFER WILT FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt. Expressions of sympathy may be left to the family at hofferwilt.com.
