So sorry to hear about Jim. We were shipmates back in VT23. Early 70's. What a great friend. We did alot of things together. Playing fast pitch softball for the squadron was one. Here's a photo of when we were young. I'm # 5. And of course Jim # 35. "Fair winds and following seas" my friend.

I am really shocked to hear the sad news of Jim's passing. We were best friends while stationed at VT-23 in Kingsville Texas. We played on several championship softball teams and coached Little League Football together.
He was a groomsman in my wedding. It was no surprise Jim had a super successful military career ----heck, I think he made Sailor of the Month every month while at VT-23!!! Just a great man.

I am so very sorry. Jim and I were stationed together in the Navy (VT-23) in Kingsville, Tx back in the early 70's. We payed ball together and worked together. We had a lot for fun and hung all the time. After the Navy I got out and joined the Army. So we lost contact. I finaly found him in 1989 when he was on the USS America I believe. We talked on and off over the years. I wish we could have hooked up once more. In the photo Jim is Number 35. I'm Number 5. VT 23 fast pitch softball champions. About 1972ish. I'll pass the word to other. Jim. Rest in Peace Shipmate.

My condolences go out to his family and love ones. Jim helped me and other people in so many ways. Always made sure everyone was alright. The best boss anybody could ever have. He was a great man and friend. Never will forget his strong soul and compassion for life. God put certain people in your path for a reason. He was truly a blessing in mine. He will truly be missed.

This was an amazing man and he had such a major influence on my life. The world lost a legend with Jim's passing. He'll always be remembered as a mentor, father figure and inspiration to me and a host of others.
