James Henry Hurd Jr., 79, of Severn, passed away at Heart Homes Assisted Living on March 23, 2025. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sharon Lee Hurd; loving children, Lawrence Golden and his wife, Janie, Stephanie Maranto and Cindy Hurd; cherished grandchildren, Brittany Maranto, Ashlee Golden, Tyler Niko Maranto, Delaney DeCrispino, Nicholas Golden, Gavin Foley and Sophia Foley; and his adored great-grandchildren, Tucker, Raelynn, Mila, Gunnar and Luca.
Born in Camden, New Jersey, he was the loving son of the late Elizabeth Mary and James Henry Hurd Sr.; and beloved father of the late James Henry Hurd III. Jim was the proud owner of Hurd’s Auto and Truck Service in Glen Burnie. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. Above all, his passion was working on cars and trucks.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29th, from 2 – 5 PM, with a funeral ceremony immediately following at 5 PM in the funeral home chapel.
