James "Buck" Robert Inge, was born April 13, 1943, in Little Retreat Hospital in Clover, Virginia. Buck passed away May 19, 2025, in Twin Lake Nursing Home in South Hill Virginia. Buck had several jobs over the years including delivering newspapers on his paper route, riding in the milk truck to deliver milk, working on a bread truck delivering to different stores, the shoe factory, and at a grocery store stocking shelves. Some of Bucks favorite past times were volunteering on the fire department, which he was very proud of, going to car races, football games, and watching wrestling matches on the tv. He loved to wander the streets of Chase City and Appomattox to talk to everybody in and out of the stores - Buck loved to talk. He was everybody's friend, and he loved everyone. Special thanks to those who displayed love and care while he was in Brandon Home in South Boston and the Hope House in Lacrosse. He is preceded in death by his parents James Conrad Inge & Laura Elizabeth Champion Inge and brother, Jackie "Jack" Conrad Inge. Surviving is his sister, Doris Elizabeth Nixon (Greensboro); sister-in-law, Ann Hite Inge (Woodbridge); wife, Virginia Layne Inge (Appomattox); stepdaughter, Virginia Farlow (Lynchburg); nephews, Jeff Inge (Julie), Brian Inge (Kim), Kevin Inge (Jen); niece, Cheri Ellixson; extortionary friend and care giver, Joyce Bullard. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday May 25, 2025 at Woodland Cemetery. Wood Funeral Service is serving the family. Condolences may be expressed at www.woodfuneralservice.com
