James was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank William Inklebarger and Dorothy Ann Davy, his family moved to Florida when he was 8. Jim earned the rank of Eagle Scout and graduated from Boone High School in Orlando, after which he served in the United States Army from 1968-69. He was stationed at Long Binh in Vietnam. Upon his return he completed his Bachelor's Degree, while working as a lineman for BellSouth and serving as an Executive Board Member for the Pediatric Care Center (now Ann Storck).
In 1976 Jim founded his commercial real-estate firm, BRINWO Development Corporation, in Plantation, Florida. He had a successful lifelong career, closing his firm to retire in 2023.
Jim married Cindi Bebak in 1987, they had two children Caitlin Ellenson (Inklebarger) and Aaron Inklebarger. Jim loved to travel, he and his family explored the world. His most cherished adventures included golfing in Scotland, skiing at Copper Mountain, exploring Alaska, safari in Zambia, and a memorial tour of the Normandy Coast of France.
Jim was a proud veteran and quietly celebrated his service every Veteran's Day with lunch at the Georgia Pig in Davie, Florida. His father, Frank, was a veteran of the Marine Corps. Jim celebrated his father's service providing annual sponsorship to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Golf Tournament at Fort Lauderdale Country Club where Jim was a member for many years. A flag stands today at FLCC, in memory of his father at the first hole.
Jim developed Parkinson's disease and Lewy-body dementia likely due to his exposure to Agent Orange during his service in the Vietnam War. The family moved to Colorado where Jim succumbed to his diseases. He will be given a full military burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
