James David Jankowski

James David Jankowski, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, at his home in Queen Anne MD, on February 6, 2026. James was born in Manistee Michigan on the 17th of November 1938. Son of Walter and Mabel (Pearce) Jankowski.

He was a graduate of Saint Joseph Catholic high school in Manistee, class of 1956. He graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1960, with a degree in mathematics. He joined the US Army and later worked for the government doing computer security work. He married Judith (Frank) Winfield in Yorkshire England in February 1972. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Judith; children, Steven Winfield, Alison (Winfield) Russ, Helen (Jankowski) & Dan Fury, all of Maryland. Son, Jamie & Marisol Jankowski, of the Philippines. Also survived by brother Ray Jankowski, sister Nancy (Jankowski) &Tony Adamczak, as well as eight grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and a memorial service for James was held on Friday, February 13, 2026 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newman funeral home (408 S. Liberty St., Centreville MD 21617).
