James Jason Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory (43rd St. Chapel) - Bradenton on Oct. 1, 2025.
James Simon Jason, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully with Janice and Christian by his side on August 28, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida. Born in Malden, Massachusetts, on July 16, 1950, James, known affectionately to all as Jim, lived a life marked by love, service, and unwavering dedication to his family. James grew up in Wakefield Ma where he was raised with values of hard work and compassion that would come to define him. His early years were filled with the kind of adventures that would later feed his love for the outdoors and the warm embrace of the Florida sun. After completing his education, James dedicated himself to continuing his family's legacy, successfully steering their business for over four decades with the same integrity and commitment that he applied to every aspect of his life. Jim served in the Army National Guard serving his commitment to our Country. James loved his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Janice, and together they celebrated 53 years of marriage, filled with shared dreams and mutual support. Together, they raised two sons, Christian and Scott, and have four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Arianna, Fiona, and Ethan. Beyond his immediate family, James was always watchful for his sister, Mary, embodying the role of a protective and loving brother a promise he made to his loving parents Mother Madeline Jason and Father James (Skip) Jason. Jim was a boater and cyclist and loved the opportunity to be out on the water or exploring the trails, with the sun on his face and the wind at his back with Janice. Those who knew James would describe him as loving, thoughtful, and gentle. His presence was a calming force, and his kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. James's legacy is one of love and selflessness, a life lived with quiet strength and compassion for others. We are grateful to Jim (Jay) for the time we shared with him. His memory will inspire us, and the love he gave will forever be in our hearts. James will be missed but his spirit will remain with us forever. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
